The much awaited sequel of 1978 classic, recreated with cutting edge style director from Bollywood, Farhan Akhtar. This time its Shahrukh Khan essaying the double role of Don and Vijay, while Priyanka Chopra plays Roma and Kareena Kapoor performing on the evergreen chartbuster -'Yeh Mera Dil' earlier performed by the cabaret queen Helen. Shahrukh Khan's suave and chic look and the most amazing stunts performed by him make the film even more intriguing.

SYNOPSIS: DON - The Chase Begins Again

In 2006, the drug trade is booming. The Malaysian Intelligence and Anti-Narcotic Department are called upon for assistance by their Indian counterparts. There are rumours that a drug gang has recently moved their headquarters to Kuala Lumpur. The Indian team is headed by DCP DeSilva (Boman Irani) who wants to break the back of the drug operations of a drug lord named Singhania. Also helping him is Malik (Om Puri). He believes that capturing Singhania's dangerous and elusive lieutenant, Don, (Shah Rukh Khan), will be the most effective way of accomplishing this.

Don's gang consists of Narang (Pawan Malhotra) and Anita (Ishaa Koppikar). Soon, Roma (Priyanka Chopra) joins them but she has other plans - kill Don. Don was responsible for killing her brother Ramesh as well as his fiancée, During a chase with the police the real Don is seriously injured and is captured by DeSilva. He keeps it a secret that he has captured Don, even from his fellow officers, and tracks down a look-alike called Vijay, a lowly singer (also played by Shah Rukh Khan).

TRIVIA: Did You Know?

• When Farhan Akhtar started scripting the movie- Hrithik Roshan was his first choice for the role of DON, but as the story developed he found Shahrukh Khan as most suited to play the part.
• Priyanka Chopra specially learned martial arts for the movie, in one of her chase sequence on the streets of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Priyanka performed the stunts on her own on a bike.
• Ishaa Koppikar's character in the new 'Don' was not in the original version as happens to be the popular conception in people's minds. Ishaa's character in the new version has been substantially developed by the director.
• Two of the original songs, "Khaike Paan Banaraswala" and "Yeh Mera Dil" were remade for the movie. Shah Rukh Khan sang the few lines in the song "Khaike Paan Banaraswala".
• For their roles in the film, Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Rampal undertook a special martial arts training programme under the guidance of Shaolin Temple experts.
• 80 per cent of the film was shot in Malaysia.
• Yana Gupta was considered for the role of Kamini.
• A fight sequence between the Don and DCP DeSilva was being shot in Langkawi.
Unfortunately, the fight choreographer was messing up, and Boman Irani had to leave for a flight to a shoot in Goa. So, with time running out for Irani, Shahrukh Khan choreographed the sequence. Khan explained to Irani the scenes, when to enter the frame, etc. after several takes the sequence was finally executed and Irani caught his flight in the nick of time.
• In one scene in the film, the Don jumps from a height of 15,000 feet. Shahrukh Khan himself did the stunt, under the guidance of Hollywood stunt expert Joe Jennings.
• During a shoot, Shahrukh Khan's wedding ring slipped off his finger. Khan had everyone on the sets searching for it, with the implausible excuse that if they didn't find it, he would have to get married again in order to get himself a new wedding ring. Needless to say, they found it in double quick time.
